Reintroduction: Finding Spirituality and Healing at Merkaba Sacred Healing & Counseling

Writer: merkabasacredhealimerkabasacredheali

In my counseling practice, spirituality is at the core of how I approach healing, though I don’t force it upon anyone. I believe that every individual has a spiritual dimension, and while some may not consciously identify as spiritual, many are still intrigued by the holistic approach I offer. My focus is on integrating the idea that we are all more than just our thoughts and emotions—we are spiritual beings, each with a unique journey.

Even clients who don’t consider themselves spiritual are often open to exploring the connection between their emotional and mental well-being and their deeper, often unexplored, inner world. This exploration can offer profound insights and healing opportunities. Personally, I hold the belief in one Creator, but I don’t align with traditional religious structures or dogma. I respect those structures, but deep in my bones, I believe there is something more than what is typically presented. I identify as a mystic, and this influences the practices and modalities I work with. Although I never impose these beliefs on anyone, my spiritual foundations have always brought me peace—through both trauma and joy.

While my spiritual journey is deeply tied to mysticism, energy healing, and my connection to texts like the Bible and the Gita, I am mindful of not imposing these beliefs on my clients. However, when clients ask, I am happy to share my perspectives within reason. I believe in creating a therapeutic space where individuals can explore spirituality at their own pace, without pressure to adopt any particular belief system.

For those who feel disconnected from their spiritual side—especially while navigating mental health struggles—I often remind them that it’s never too late to reconnect. Even if you feel angry or lost, spirituality is always there, waiting to be rediscovered when you’re ready. I offer a safe, supportive space where clients can explore what spirituality means to them, without judgment or expectation.

In a world where spiritual exploration is either taboo or exploited, I strive to give clients the freedom to rediscover their connection to the spiritual realm—on their terms and in their time. This is also deeply entwined with holistic healing. Living a holistic life is not just a belief for me—it’s how I live my own life, and it forms the backbone of my counseling approach. I believe that if I’m not practicing what I preach, I lose integrity. For me, holistic healing means understanding that we are complex beings—mind, body, and spirit—and that all these elements are interconnected. In therapy, we can’t address the mind and emotions without considering the energetic and spiritual aspects of a person’s life.

In my practice, I integrate traditional counseling with energy healing modalities like Reiki and Radiant Light, offering a more complete and integrated healing experience. This approach not only allows clients to explore new avenues of healing but also gives them the freedom to be their authentic selves in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

I think back to a time when spirituality saved me. I was going through a separation that would eventually lead to divorce. During this time, I began my yoga training and fell in love with the Hindu religion, particularly the Upanishads. The Upanishads was a book that changed my life; it allowed me to find some sense of peace. For the sake of keeping my ex-husband safe, I’ll leave out all details, but even after everything, I cared about what happens to him. I threw myself into my yoga practice, learning not just the physical aspects but the spiritual teachings as well. It was the first spiritual practice that taught me about healthy detachment while remaining connected. This practice kept me grounded during such a tumultuous time in my life.

Later, with the birth of my daughter, I found my way to the Bible and learning about Jesus. I felt a deep calling to explore these teachings—especially in a time when the Bible and Jesus seem to be becoming taboo, and Christianity is often criticized. I do not identify with any particular religion, but I have found beauty and valuable lessons in these texts during the times when I’ve needed them most.

If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your spiritual side or are curious about exploring how spirituality and mental health intertwine, I invite you to take a step inward. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, or simply seeking balance, there is space for you to rediscover your own spiritual path—on your terms, in your time.

At Merkaba Sacred Healing & Counseling, we honor the complexity of each individual’s journey—mind, body, and spirit. Our holistic approach integrates energy healing, traditional counseling, and spiritual exploration, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to be your authentic self.

You don’t have to have all the answers right now. Sometimes, healing is about giving yourself permission to explore, reconnect, and let go of what no longer serves you.

Are you ready to explore your own path to healing?

Whether these words resonate with you or your parts, may you know you are love, you are loved, and you always will be.
